August 20 - Start of Scullers Fall Season
The beginning of the new schoolyear also marks the start of a new rowing season - Fall 2023. The Scullers traditionally invite parents and athletes to a first kick-off meeting. The Clubhouse 153 N Tamiami was packed. The Head Coach and members of the board greeted the interested parents and their kids. During 90min Bernhard talked about rowing, the team and what to expect joining a rowing team.

Season Start with equipment you … L O V E
August … the month of a) cleaning the boats b) identifying the damage and repair c) buy missing pieces d) prepare the boats and Boatyard for the upcoming hurricanes. Our slowly growing MS and HS team made their hands dirty and clean. The big cleaning stuff, the heavy machinery and the fine polish from the Clubhouse to the Boatyard and the 5 days of cleaning (unfortunately we have to do another 3 days in the coming month). All of the HS athletes came day by day and became examples to our MS athletes … Thank you to Ava, Luke, Nick, Leon, Eitan, Elena … you all have been a big part of our community to keep our equipment up to date.
Maintenance - Cleaning - Repair
Hurrican Idalia … strong winds - more water … but fortunately for us no further damage…
and then … Saturday back to training … the 8+ in foreground and always a mixed boat
Donation of a new C2 …. Training option in the morning for our ADULT members
C2
We are happy to announce that we received a nearly unused new Concept2 erg machine for our team. The Head Coach became emotional because the machine still has the original wooden handle - he remembered his own training times on that machine … so the athletes had a nice 90min workout the day the machine made his/her new home in our Clubhouse.
Training for you
In the month of October the Scullers open three times per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) the doors in the morning for exercising. The Scullers are offering one hour sessions for groups of maximum of six adults together with our Head Coach. The aim … stay fit, enjoy the training, learn rowing on the machine, strength training ….
Wait for further announcement this month for your possible classes
