Welcome to our monthly NEWSLETTER!

My name is Bernhard Stomporowski and I am the new Director of Rowing and Head Coach of the Sarasota Scullers. My team and I want to inform you monthly about the activities of our young athletes, about our activities in the community, news from our Alumni’s and more ….

Future

In December 2022 I succeed my position of Greg Wood. I think in the name of all Scullers we can thank him to steer the club through the rough time of Covid and we can be thankful that with his actions he kept the Scullers afloat and motivated young athletes to join our program.

FEBRUARY 2023

Since December 2022 Sarah and I are working to restructure our work environment. We turn over every stone at our boathouse at Tamiami. We created an office space and reorganized our inventory.

Office at 153 Tamiami

We did not stop here. The next step was to figure out what did the Scullers do in the past 30 years … yes we are 30 years old - founded in 1991 - but we never had the chance to celebrate because of COVID.

So by going through all the papers and several board meetings we decided to celebrate 33 years of Scullers in 2024. The preparations are starting now and everyone who is interested to help in this special party is welcome to contact us at [email protected]

Our first fundraiser 2023 PUBLIX

February was also the month of organizing our 2023. We created our yearly schedule and first on our list was a fundraiser at PUBLIX (www.publix.com)

Our yearly planning in our office

We are very thankful that our local PUBLIX allowed us to do our fundraising at their location. Our MS and HS athletes participated and with our C2 on side we have been the THING of the day. Parents also came by and supported us - a great Sarasota Scullers Family. Thank you too all.
